About Me
Hey everyone! I am just your average not so average girl. I am a 22 year old college student so of course I enjoy a fun night out with my friends every once in awhile, but most of my time I spend either babysitting, working, going to class, reading, and binge watching some of my favorite shows: One Tree Hill, This Is Us, Empire, Scandal, Greys Anatomy, The Game, Parks and Recreation, New Girl, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, and many more.
Work Experience
2006- Present
I've had a lot of different jobs throughout my couple decades on Earth, I started babysitting when I was ten. Once I turned 14 I started detasseling. (For those of you that don't live in Iowa, that means picking tassels off of the corn in the fields). Then at 16 I got a job at my local Hy-Vee, (What a bust!) I worked there for 7 months before I decided it was time for something new. Thats when I got a job as a server at Pizza Hut. I didn't take me long to realize that wasn't the job for me either. I do miss the free pizza and breadsticks though! In the summer of my junior and senior year I worked at the front desk and the concession stand of our family aquatic center. Once I got to college I worked as a housekeeper at the hotel for 3 months until I decided I hated cleaning even when I was getting paid for it. I finally found a job at a daycare as a Teacher's Aide and I babysit on the side. I absolutely love it!
Education
2011// Humboldt High School
I started high school August of 2011. I entered Humboldt High back on the bottom of the pyramid. Instead of a top dog 8th grader roaming around my middle school hallways, I was now a lowly freshman trying to stay out of the way of big bad upperclassmen. To my surprise I navigated the four "best years of my life" pretty well. I was involved in volleyball, basketball, track, and softball. Notice I said involved instead of play because I didn't actually play all that much. It was all fine though because I got to nurture a lot of my friendships sitting on the bench. I made friends with a few girls grades ahead of me and watched them graduate knowing that would be me in two years. I participated in three musicals, was nominated for Homecoming Queen, sang in the choir, was Student Officer in the Spanish club, and a few other minor life accomplishments. High school is a place where I hold four years worth of memories: good and bad.
2015// University of Iowa
I started my journey at the university on August 20th, 2015. I came in thinking I knew exactly what the next fours years held in store for me, but I was completely wrong. I changed my major seven times, failed a class, and eventually gained the whole freshman fifteen. But I also have learned so much about life, love, faith, and myself. I learned that college is so much more than just taking classes to get the degree you need, to get the job you want. It's about growth and friendships, and learning to navigate your life through this crazy amazing world the best way you see fit. This last year I am going to be taking on some very new experiences, so stay tuned!
